At the conference of Neighbourhood Associations, the Mayor informed about an increase in the amount of subsidies for neighbourhood associations (the NAs) and a grant fund for the implementation of initiative projects.

In Perm, much attention is paid to the conditions created for the NAs development. Thus, the NA conference was held to share best practices, discuss topical issues and improve the activities of neighbourhood associations. The conference gathered together the Mayor of Perm City Eduard Sosnin, the Vice-Chairman of the Perm City Duma  Maksim Spiridonov, the Executive Director of the Council of Municipalities of the Perm Region Oleg Kharin, the representatives of the administrations of Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod, as well as the members of Perm NAs community.

Mr. Eduard Sosnin presented to the participants a report on the development of the Perm neighbourhood association system and made a point of the activities carried out annually by neighbourhood associations. For instance, thanks to the implementation of NA projects, gardens and parks were improved, public and youth spaces were established, and equipment was purchased for community centres, including the one for the construction of new cinema halls and play areas for children and teenagers.

- We intend to increase the amount of subsidies for NAs from 33 to 45 million rubles and the grant fund for implementation of initiative projects - from 22 to 30 million rubles. This measure will solve more local challenges in neighbourhoods. I truly appreciate the active participation of residents in the life of our city and understand the importance of the neighbourhood associations’ activities. The NA chairmen and activists are the "eyes" of the municipal authorities on the ground. They are the ones who are among the first to indicate the vulnerable areas. Besides, as I have already said, we will build 5 new community centres in the next three years, - Mr. Eduard Sosnin informed.

Thus, according to the Mayor of Perm, new community centers will be opened on Batumskaya ulitsa in the Kirovsky district, in the Novobrodovsky and Golyj Mys neighbourhoods of the Sverdlovsk district, in Srednyaya Kurya neighbourhood of the Leninsky district and the Yanvarsky neighbourhood of Ordzhonikidzevsky district.

- The NA has a significant task - to involve residents in city life. After all, there is no secret that when people invest their energy and finances in a particular object, their attitude towards it changes. For this reason, the conference discussed the emerging issues. Mostly, this is interaction with the municipal authorities. We are looking forward to the initiatives of the Mayor to be supported by councillors and taken into account for the budget for the next three years, - said Maksim Volik, chairman of the "League of NA Chairmen".
